As part of measure to bolster the civil-military relationship, the Nigerian Army led by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya, has completely refurbished his Alma-mater, Mallam Sa’idu Nizzaniya Primary School, Sifawa, a community in Bodinga local government area of Sokoto State.
The projects which is one of the four projects commissioned by the Nigerian Army in the local government was aimed at giving back to the society especially the former school of the Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, in Sifawa.
Speaking after commissioning the school and other projects in the community, the special guest of the programme, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, commend the Nigerian Army for their believe in civil – military relationship.
Tambuwal, who is also the state governor described the projects as people oriented while calling the community to make judicious use of them.
He described Chief of Army Staff as a thorough breed soldier who does his job with utmost discipline and complete fear of God.
While assuring him of continuous support and prayers from the state, the governor commend the Nigerian Army for gradual restoration of peace and tranquility back to the state.
Speaking in his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Faruk Yahaya said the presentation of the items was part of the civil-military relationship of the Nigerian Army.
He said such items and intervention was also gave out in Owerri, Imo State early this year when the Nigerian Army host another event in the state.
He commend the governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, for always supporting the Nigerian Army in all of it’s activities in the state since his assumption of office about a year ago.
Other items commissioned in the state by the Army Chief includes Nigerian Army Guest House, International Conference Centre Kasarawa Mosque Building, Complete renovation and refurbished of Mallam Sa’idu Nizzaniya Primary School Sifawa.
Others includes Construction of Drainage system in Sifawa, Distribution of educational materials to both primary and secondary schools in Bodinga local government, rehabilitation of children ward in Both Goronyo and Tangaza local governments General Hospital.
The Nigerian Army also organized a medical outreach for the benefits of residents of Sifawa, in Bodinga local government as well as Emir Yahaya, Sokoto South local government area.
Highlight of the events was the special reception organized for the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya where he was able to reunite with some of his old friends including his primary and secondary School mates respectively.
