Sokoto State Government through it’s Ministry of health in Collaboration with Plan International Nigeria (Global affairs Canada Funded Project) had on Tuesday organized a Stakeholders meeting on coronavirus vaccines at Dankani Guest Palace, Sokoto.
The Meeting which was aims at Sensitizing the Stakeholders who were drawn from different organization in the state to be educated on the importance of Covid Vaccines, the target groups as well as clear the rumours surrounding the Astrazaneca Covid-19 Vaccines.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Health Dr Muhammad Ali Inname, expressed his appreciation to the participants for honoring the invitation to attend the meeting, thanked the organizers for their efforts.
He further revealed that the state government have received over Six thousands doses of Corona virus Vaccines with aims to vaccinate the front line and health workers as first phase.
He charged the participants as not panic on the safety of the vaccines as it was cleared by all relevant agency that its safe and has no any harmful to human.
There were several presentations with regard to the development such as:
Covid-19 Situation reports in the world, Nigeria and particularly Sokoto by the Director public health, Dr Abdulrahaman Ahmad.
Others includes Introduction to Covid-19 Vaccines by Dr Larai Aliyu of World Health Organization (WHO) and other presentations from Plan International and UNICEF.
There were a lot of questions and answers at the meeting from the participants and more clarification from the expert based on scientific knowledge.
The participants were drawn from various organizations in the state, religious institutions, Media houses, Social media organization among others.
