Network of Civil Society Organizations (NECSO) Yobe State has partnered with the Yobe State House of Assembly to improve citizens welfare.
The members of the group led by its Executive Director NECSO, Baba Shehu visited the Yobe State House of Assembly (YBSHA) and we’re recieved by the Deputy Speaker of the House in his office on behalf of the Speaker, Hon. Mohammed Auwal Isa Bello
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the NECSO Executive Director Baba Shehu said that “the purpose of our visit to the legislatures is to strengthen the existing relationship between us as both of us are critical stakeholders in ensuring that service delivery by government and other Non Governmental Organization,”.
“The partnership will enhance smooth and harmonious working relationship that will benefit our teeming citizens”.
He further said “we also seek the support of the House in the areas that we feel CSOs would be supported to enable all of us operate under conducive atmosphere in terms of legislation, and in terms of policies by government.
” That is why we have come to advocate for such further especially those at the grassroot to ensure that they’re strengthened to operate and compete favorably with the CSOs across the country”, Shehu said.
Responding, Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Auwal Isa Bello said that he is aware of the existence of 126 registered CSOs operating in Yobe State while expressing gratitude for the partnership and visit.
He said”, We appreciate your efforts in building the capacity of our members through series of engagements and trainings. Our doors are always open for you and other donors willing to operate in the state.”
Hon. Bello also promised that the house will discuss further the matter with the SSG on how to mobilize support to improve the operation of the CSOs in the overall interest of the citizens of the state.
