Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, has advised investors to tap into the opportunities in the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
The Ekiti state governor made the appeal during a facility tour of the area with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other state governors on Friday.
Adedoja Salam-Adeniyi reports that major projects underway in the Lekki-Epe corridor include the Free Trade Zone, International Airport and the Dangote petrochanicals and refinery as well as a Deep Sea Port that is poised to become the biggest in Africa upon completion.
Governors of Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, Edo, Kwara, Plateau, Kaduna, Kebbi among others joined the host governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to tour the sea port, and the refinery which is to refine 650,000 barrels of crude per day.
For Governor Sanwo-Olu, Lagos is ready to improve the road infrastructure of this area.
The Lagos Free Trade Zone is the first private owned free trade zone in Nigeria spanning more than 805 hectares of land. It is planned to house several industrial zones and offer access to an enormous consumer market across West Africa.
