Aminu-Bayero

The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has announced the cancellation of the traditional durbar ceremonies planned for the Eid el-Kabir celebration. The decision was made to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order in the state.

In a broadcast delivered at the Nassarawa mini palace on Saturday, Bayero cited security recommendations as the reason for the cancellation, aiming to maintain peace in Kano.

The Emir extended his warm greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, in honor of the Eid el-Kabir celebration. In his message, Bayero emphasized the significance of sacrifice and prayer during the festival. He expressed his hopes that Tinubu and Yusuf would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy, protect lives and properties, and seek strength and courage from God.

Additionally, the head of Dawaki, Aminu Agundi, announced that the deposed Emir would observe the Eid prayer at the Nassarawa mini palace on Sunday at 8:00 am. Agundi also praised the public for their continuous prayers for peaceful coexistence in Kano and the nation at large.

The Kano Emirship is currently a subject of litigation following the dethronement of Bayero and the reinstatement of Mohammad Sanusi by Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State.
