President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will forgo a national broadcast on Wednesday to mark his first anniversary in office. Instead, he will address a joint session of the National Assembly, which has organized a program to celebrate 25 years of Nigeria’s democratic journey at both the executive and legislative levels.
In his speech, President Tinubu will highlight the achievements of his administration and reflect on the progress of Nigeria’s democracy since the military handed over power in 1999.
The session will also feature addresses from former Senate President David Mark, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and current Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and former military ruler General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who transitioned power to civilian rule in 1999.
Following the speeches, President Tinubu will inaugurate the National Assembly Library and Resource Center, which will be renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building.
