A 500-level student of the Department of Systems Engineering, University of Lagos, Akinjobi Sodiq, has been selected by Google Developers, after a long and exciting application process, to lead the University of Lagos Chapter of the Developer Students Club (DSC).

This selection has earned Sodiq an invitation to attend the Developer Student Clubs Summit holding at Accra, Ghana, between Thursday, September 12 and Saturday, September 14, 2019.

The mandate of DSC is to train student developers across the world how to solve real-life problems in collaboration with Google. This mandate is fulfilled by empowering Club leads and exposing members to different opportunities such as hackathons, skill workshops, online discussions to mention a few.

Sodiq aims to toe the line of his predecessor, Oluwalolope Hope, a 500-level student of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, by teaching more students of the University and introducing them to design and development skills.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, on behalf the entire University community congratulates Akinjobi Sodiq on this meritorious achievement.
