The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to an illustrious son of Abia, Commodore Chinonyerem Emmanuel Oji, on his meritorious promotion to the prestigious rank of Rear Admiral in the Nigerian Navy.
Commodore C. Emmanuel Oji, who hails from Amaoba Ime Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, was among the 31 senior naval officers elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral, following the approval of the promotion of 127 senior officers by the Navy Board on Thursday, 27 November 2025.
Governor Otti described Rear Admiral Oji’s promotion as a testament to hard work, professionalism, courage, and an unwavering commitment to national service. He noted that Oji’s rise through the ranks reflects the excellence for which Abians are known, and serves as an inspiration to young officers and citizens striving for distinction in their various fields.
The Governor said that this significant milestone is a proud moment for Abia State and Rear Admiral Chinonyerem Emmanuel Oji has brought honour to Amaoba Ime Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, and the entire state. His dedication to duty and outstanding service record exemplify the values of integrity, discipline, and patriotism that we continue to be a encourage among our people.
The Governor commended the Nigerian Navy for recognizing merit and professionalism in its elevation process, adding that such promotions strengthen the morale of officers and enhance the overall security architecture of the nation.
