The kebbi State governor His Excellency Senator Atiku Bagudu has appointed Yahya Sarki as special adviser on media and publicity. The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement from the office of the governor.
Before his recent appointment Yayha was the state correspondent of leadership newspaper, Sarki worked with several newspapers like Agenda, Kebbi times and a host of many others, therefore his appointment will cement the relationship between the government and the entire journalists in the state and outside.
Earlier in his acceptance speech he thanked kebbi government for finding him worthy of the appointment, he promised the governor, that he will work hard not to betray the confidence reposed on him.
To other journalists Sarki said his door is open for suggestions and useful advice on how to streghten the media by allowing objective reporting, he added that slander and blackmail will not be tolerated, he extends hands of friendship to practicing journalists outside Kebbi State.
