How Kebbi Peace Corps Commandant Resustated a Dying Command.

Nigerian peace corps came in with force in the country to discharge duties expected of them, their coming met stiff resistance as it was then seen by many as a duplication of an already like organisation in the country,the undeterred body forged ahead with its lawful activities by establishing commands manned by commandants across the the 36 states of the federation.

While building the commands an army of youths were recruited to help spread the message of peace corps, a large chunk of them were then indirectly employed as they receives monthly stipends from local governments to keep them going as a result many hitherto  jobless and drugs addicts were reformed.

Sadly along the line they were some issues at the headquarters of peace which forced the federal government then to put their activities on hold nationwide, the action of the government demoralized many staff of peace corps consequently many of them quitted and returned to labour market causing pains to parents as well as the society as youth restiveness returned.

Now that,the dust is over and peace  corps bounced back with vigour the task of bringing back a fragmented house is the uphill task ahead of the new leadership.

For a smooth revival Abubakar Jibrin was appointed commandant in Kebbi,since he came onboard the corps in the State got a real turn around,Jibrin swung into action by establishing offices across the 21 local governments in the state,he set up committees at various levels whose primary assignment was to unify the entire state and to rekindle their lost hope,that it is not over for the corps, within two months that was achieved and officers of the corps regained relevance.

He held series of activities like processions to show their presence in the state and a whole lot of visitations to orphanage homes,prisons, hospitals,markets and skills centers to give hope to youth and to show them the need for to be peaceful in order to contribute positively to the state and the country at large.

He went into collaboration with other uniform outfits to bolster the activities of the corps,he holds zonal meetings with zonal commandants to ensure the movement remains intact,he continue to labour to ensure probity among leaders whom he entrusted moral training of the youth under them.
