The kebbi State president of Igbo communities chief Samuel Nnamani has dismissed the agitations of Biafra that is being pursued by indigenous peoples of Baifra known as IPOB as a business venture by some youths in the southeast, the igbo leader who call on them to face reality on ground said he believes in one Nigeria and the country will remain one.
Nnamani added that,those beating drums of war never witness it thats why, his words “how can i support war or the break up of the country when i lost my mother and my farther in 1967 to the civil war i will not be party to that he said,he noted that he shouldn’t be talking about Baifra or IPOB because he is an indigine of Kebbi, according to him he came to the State in 1978 and since he has been in Kebbi enjoying the peaceful state.
In another development the igbo leader said some handful of Igbos who ventured into farming in Kebbi State were also affected by the flood but said the affected are yet to receive assistance from the state government,he described the governor of Kebbi State Senator Atiku Bagudu as the country,s most detribalised governor he said Igbos in Kebbi never for once feel marginalized or discrimanated along religious or tribal lines as they have been receiving sallah gifts of sometimes money or rice of about 100 bags.
He explained that,the emir of gwandu his royal highness Muhammadu Illiyasu Bashar too remain a farther to the igbo Community in the state, Nnamani added that,the royal farther inherited the harmonious relationship between the Igbos and the emirate from the late emir of Gwandu Haruna Rasheed Bashar who was himself an ally to the Igbo community.
In his independence day message chief Samuel urged his members to remain law abiding by staying away from crimes and must respect the law and culture of the land,he projects a huge success for Kebbi and the nation as whole in the remaining years of the government at all levels.
