Any organisation that is desirous of growth, progress and development must from time to time ensure proper appraisal of it’s operations for impactful efficiency.
The leadership or the management of such organisation must always look inwards to detect and resolve structural and administrative impediments that hinder it’s operations and survival.
This forms the basis upon which the leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP) embarked on some far reaching reforms within the party in it’s bid to rework itself to becoming an effective opposition to the ruling, rudderless, All Progressives Congress (APC).
Expectedly, these reforms have elicited some reactions both negative and positive thus prompting the need to make some clarifications to clear any form of ambiguity that these reforms have elicited in the public space.
For the NNPP and it’s leadership, the twin decisions to change the party logo and the resolve to expell some political trader have come with them, mixed reactions, thus the need to put the record straight.
On the change in party’s logo, it was discovered during the last election that it was somewhat difficult to sell the logo to the party’s teeming followers across the country owing to the so much ambiguity contained in the former logo.
It must be noted that the former logo contained several items which became very difficult to evolve an identity with which to convince our followers to identify with it.
Simply put, the logo never conveyed any form of identity or character which aligns with the philosophy of the party hence the need for a change.
The new logo, which is simply a depiction of education as the necessary key to human emancipation and egalitarianism fits perfectly with the thinking of the leadership for a progressive nation.
The second move by the party to expel some political dead woods within was necessitated by the need to purge the NNPP of elements who are of the habit of trading the fortunes of the party away at every election cycle for pittance.
It is a known fact that these elements usually engage in anti-party activities during elections. It is a known fact that these elements who held the tickets of the NNPP to contest various public offices simply collected money from other parties and simply went to sleep during the election.
It is also a known fact that the leadership of the party in some states collected huge sums of money from candidates seeling election into various offices and simply traded their candidates away.
Immediately the party leadership sanctioned the mercantile politicians, they ran to Chief Boniface Aniebonam for cover that pitched him against the leadership.
These are the things that irked the leadership of the NNPP to take the drastic decisions that are now bearing positive fruits.
It is envisaged that these are just the starting points in the well orchestrated and careful crafted plans by the NNPP to rework and remake itself to becoming the most viable opposition that the average Nigerian will trust with leading the country.
In this march to redesigning the NNPP, no effort would be spared and no sacrifice would be considered as too big or small and no stone would be left unturned in efforts to return power to Nigerians who yearn for good governance.
