Kebbi state organized labour under the chairmanship of comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan has asked the Kebbi state governor Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu to settle thousands of retirees in the state.

Speaking to news men at the labour Secretariat in Birnin kebbi after meeting with stakeholders of the organized labour in state, the unionist appealed to the governor to clear the backlog of gratuities the is owing retired civil servants, he also urged him  to pay last year’s leave grants to kebbi workers that was not paid before the minimum wage was implemented in the state.

He noted that, Nlc is aware of the committee raised to work out modalities on how to implement the consequential adjustment agreed with the federal government but laments the slow handling of the issue at stake.

In a similar development, Alhassan urged the state government to implement workers promotion and the yearly increments which has not been added to workers salaries for a while.

He called on the state workers to man their duty post while the union strive to ensure all their demands are met,he explained that,the struggle will continue until the needful is done,he described the union working relationship with the state government as frank and cordial “we will maintain a peaceful relationship with the government and civil servants, we also thank him for prompt payments of salaries to workers during his first tenure and now Halidu said
