Governorship candidate of the People Redemption Party, PRP, in Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Udu Idris on Saturday denied any plan to merge with any political party in the state.
Idris, who made this known at Race Course in Birnin Kebbi during the governorship campaign flag-off of the party.
He disclosed that his party was for people of integrity who were in the race to bring change, adding that if the sitting government had done what it was supposed to do, there wouldn’t be need for them to go into politics.
The former Kebbi head of service said PRP’s government would reposition education through the employments of more teachers, saying structures without manpower will not give the desired results hence the need to gradually replace retired teachers with capable hands.
On civil service reforms, he said the inactivity of the civil service was responsible for absence of governance in the state, promising to ensure the every ministry functioned independent of the other with regular checks to ensure corruption has not set in, if elected he will
He promised youths of the state to create jobs for them through skills acquisition with start-up capital.
While decrying the state of healthcare services in the state, he pledged to provide more doctors and healthcare givers to attend to the health needs of people of Kebbi State as the present manpower in the health sector was inadequate, considering the growing population.
Earlier, presidential candidate of the party, Mr Kola Abiola, shortly before presenting flags to Idris and other candidates, pledged to run an all-inclusive government with all the components of true federalism, as the states would control some parts of their resources.
Abiola said women and people with disabilities would get 25 percent representation at all levels.
