Kebbi State emergency management agency (SEMA) has roundly condemned and denied allegations in circulation that it has refused some accredited beneficiaries of relief materials.
Recalled that two years ago officials of national emergency management agency (NEMA) visited Kebbi where they accessed extent of damages caused by flood and took the number of those affected by the flood disaster, as result they entered into collaboration with its sister state agency for the disbursement of the aid supplied to the state.
The state acting executive director Abbas Rabiu kamba said lots of people are not aware of the fact that,the relief materials are not from the state,”we have lots of unclaimed slips which I can show you here laying on the table no one has come for it,I challenged any body with slip to come forward and claim his aid,those who lost their own should bring along a sworn affidavit he said.
The agency reaffirmed its commitments to judicious distribution of relief materials as it has being doing over the years,without complaints from any quarters, he thanked the federal government for the intervention and the state government for its untiring efforts geared towards improving the lot of victims.
