The National Directorate of Employment, (NDE )Abia state has  flagged off orientation ceremony for the provision of facility to 48 trained participants of  Agricultural Enhancement Scheme (AES).

Beatrice Oruoyehu, the Head of Department of the Rural Employment Promotion department at the headquarters, the ceremony was to sensitize the participants on the effective use of facility.
Oruoyehu  who was represented by  Chikodiri Okereke encouraged them to use it for the purpose it was meant.

Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, the Director General of NDE, in his keynote address said the programme was in line with the mission of the Directorate to tackle the rising rate of unemployment through skills training, counseling and reorientating the youths to embrace skill empowerment, create wealth and reduce unemployment.
Fikpo who was represented by the state coordinator, NDE Abia, Tessy Wachuku reiterated that the participants having been trained in Agric value chain activities, production, storage, marketing, Agricultural extension services and other innovative agricultural skills in the sector would use this facility to enhancwe their skills, create wealth and in turn become employers of labour.

Wachukwu, the state coordinator, on her part Wachuku gave them motherly advice never to despise the days of little beginnings and encouraged them to invest the facility wisely in their chosen fields.

One of the graduate trainees of AES, Victoria Ekwulonu who received the facility last year gave a testimonial of how the facility gave a boost to her vegetable farming business and today she is financially free.

Ibe favour Uchenna on behalf of the participants expressed her appreciation to all the stakeholders and NDE for the honor done them to be among the few in the State to benefit from the programme and promised that they would make good use of the facility.

Stella Chukwuekezie, the head of department, Rural Employment Promotion department, NDE Abia, in her vote of thanks appreciated all the dignitaries, participants, management and staff of NDE for gracing the occasion.

She also thanked the Honorable minister of state for Labour and productivity, Nkeiru Onyejiocha for approving the scheme and  selecting Abia State as one of the 14 states that benefitted from the program.
