In a series of successful counter-terrorism operations, the Nigerian Army has rescued seven women and nine children from terrorist captivity in Borno State. The operations, conducted in collaboration with local vigilante groups and the Hybrid Force, targeted terrorist staging areas around Pulka, Ashagashiya, and the Komala area. During these operations, troops engaged the terrorists, resulting in the death of one terrorist and the recovery of multiple weapons and other items.

The Nigerian Army’s statement detailed the rescue and recovery efforts, highlighting the discovery of one submachine gun, three bicycles, four blankets, cooking utensils, and several other items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. Additionally, in the Komala area, troops ambushed terrorists, killing one and recovering two AK-47 rifles, one submachine gun, ammunition, and a motorbike.

Further operations in Benue State led to the discovery of abandoned arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle, a Dane gun, and various launchers. In Kogi State, the Army disrupted a planned ransom payment to kidnappers, resulting in the death of one kidnapper and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and ammunition.

These operations underscore the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of civilians in affected areas .
