Motorists plying the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos will experience some traffic drag as the Oworonshoki bound lane of the bridge will be closed from midnight Saturday, February 6 till 7pm Sunday, February 7.

This is  to facilitate the removal of the last expansion joint on the Oworonshoki bound lane.

A statement issued by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation on Wednesday, said this would enable the contractor move equipment to the site within the given period without any interruption.

According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, the rehabilitation process was being undertaken to ensure the deadlines were met.

Motorists from Ogudu, Alapere and Gbagada are advised to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu and Yaba as alternative routes, while Iyana Oworosoki bound traffic from the Lagos Island, Iddo, Oyingbo, Adekunle and Yaba should use Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu and Ikorodu road as alternative routes.
