Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun Says his administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of persons living with disabilities for their lives to be more meaningful.
The Governor was speaking today at an event to commemorate the International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities held at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Prince Abiodun,represented by his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele, said the welfare of people with disabilities remained a major concern of the present administration adding that disability could occur in the life of anybody, making it imperative to provide best facilities for them towards a worthy living.
He said his administration had started implementing the campaign promises, which included adequate improvement in their standard of living and support for employment, as well as provision of rehabilitation centers which the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development were already working on.
In her address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Funmi Efuwape, said the celebration of the day was to promote full and equal participation of persons with disabilities in every aspects of political, socio-economic and cultural life.
