The combined team comprising police,army and local vigilantees on Sunday repelled an attack on Tiggi village by armed bandits, killed one while many of them left with various degrees of injuries.
Comfirming the attack and the killing of one bandit, the Kebbi police command’s image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar said that, the tactical team swung into action after receiving intelligence report that Tiggi village is under seige, they mobiled to the place engaged the huge number of armed bandits on gun duel which resulted in the killing of one bandit, while many others scattered with gun shots injuries.
However, an AK47 rifle and ammunitions was recovered from the nuetralised bandit.
CP Magaji urged people of the community to always give the police and other security agencies accurate information to assist them in the fight against crime in Kebbi state.
This is the second attack on Augie local government villages barely 48hrs after armed bandits reportedly sack 8 villages under same local government in Kebbi state.
