”Remember what a certain wise man said “The world is a mirror and it gives back to every man its reflection of his own face”. This means, it is what you put into life that you get from it. Always do things the right way, for the softest pillow in life is that which a man can lay his head on. The fundamental secret of success is hard work, determination and diligence. Do not forget your school that made you what you are, for your contributions can move this school to the next level. Do not forget your parents who worked morning and night in order to see you through in your education. Do not see them as a burden in their old age. Help in training your siblings and others in the community when you are opportune to do so. Remember your teachers always, pray for them, reward them with gifts for “if you can write your name, thank your teacher”.
To the Alumni, you have come to your alma mater as doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses, teachers, business magnets etc. we are proud of you all. More power to your elbow. Today is your fourth gathering as “Old Boys/Girls” of this great school, you have come to build your home (your school) and we are happy to receive you”.
“Our journey so far has not been so palatable but has yielded a lot of dividend. The school has acquired a functional website:www.pccsschool.abiaps.com for the following online checking results, accessing of assignments, printing of term projects etc. Computer Based Tests (CBT), one student, one computer, e-videos, projectors, e-learning”.
“We are also faced with few challenges that you are capable of solving without stress. School bus, tiling and renovation of the school pavilion, laptops for the establishment of accredited JAMB CBT Centre, giving scholarships to under privileged but brilliant scholars, provision of textbooks, Payment of external exams.
Finally, I want to thank the Patrons, Parents Teachers Association and everyone who are present today for their various contributions either cash and encouragement to the success of this 21st Annual Graduation Ceremony. Once again, to our parents, be assured that you are making an investment which you must reap in due season, especially the school fees. The foundation you are laying today will metamorphose into pension/gratuity tomorrow. Mother behold thy son, son behold thy mother/father. May God continue to guide you all and lead you back to your respective destinations at the end of the ceremony? Thanks and remain blessed”.
In his address, the Principal of the school Mazi Ndubuisi Ikechi urged parents to encourage their wards for better academic performance.
“Some parents sometimes forget their responsibilities to their children and the school by failing to pay the school fees of their ward(s) at the appropriate time. The school is appealing to all parents to ensure that the fees of their wards are paid on or before the expiration of the three weeks grace period given after resumption date.”
“End of term projects and assignments: Parents should ensure that their wards do and complete their projects/assignments by providing them with the necessary materials and encouragement and also supervise them”.
“Lateness to school: The rate by which pupils and students come to school late is alarming. Parents should help the school to check lateness and also ensure that they attend school in their correct school uniform”.
“Discipline: The management has no space in their programme of activities for indiscipline. Parents should help to monitor the behaviour of their children for the parents and the school which are in loco-parents to produce children who are not only intelligent but are morally sound. The school is always armed to slam appropriate sanctions on any pupil/student for indiscipline”.
In their separate speeches, the class captain kg3 Pretty Jude Testimony, the outgoing Senior Project Ichie Chinyerem Grace and the incumbent Senior Prefect Amaechi Prince Oluomachi thanked the director and management of the school for imparting real knowledge to the pupils and students of this school and urged other parents whose child and wards were not in the school to enroll in the practical computer”.
