Despite owing salaries and pension with untold poverty in their states, Governors under the platform of the All progressives Congress, APC, looted their various states of about N13.4billion  between 2015-2018 to fund the party, a document obtained by Pointblanknews.com has revealed

A total of N281million was collected by APC as monthly contributions from the Governors from 2015 to December 2018, the document revealed.

The APC Governors who contributed the millions to the party include: Bindo Jibrilla (Adamawa State), Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) Aminu Masari (Katsina State), Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).

The rest are: Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa State), Abubakar Bello (Niger), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo State), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Ibrahim Geidam, (Yobe), and Abdulaziz Yari, (Zamfara).

Although in some months, Tambuwal, Yari and Abdulfatah defaulted in the monthly payments. The Governors pay monthly contribution raging from N12million to N34million monthly to the APC.

There are still other entitlements and allowances which states Governors in the country earn at the end of the month, quarterly and yearly. The figure can rise to as high as N5million per month.

But between 2015-2018, the APC Governors contributed over N13.4billion. Between January to December 2018, the APC Governors gave N335.2million to the Party.

How the Governors were able to fund the APC with N12million and N34million monthly from their salaries remain unclear. But sources said they may have either used Security votes or used funds looted from the state coffers.

In April 2018, 24 governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress were said to have been mandated to contribute N6 billion at N250 million each towards the party’s upcoming congresses and national convention, according to a report by PREMIUM TIMES.

When contacted Bolaji Abdullahi, the then party’s national spokesperson, denied that governors were being asked to pay, dismissing the claim as illogical.
