Barely a few hours after Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike launched a scathing attack on President Muhammadu Buhari; in a televised press briefing, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has dispatched a new Commissioner of Police to the state.
The new Rivers Police boss is CP Joseph Gobum Mukan, psc (+). This was disclosed in a terse release made available to the media on Friday.
‘‘The Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has ordered the posting and redeployment of the following Senior Police Officers to Command/Formation/Department indicated against their names.’’
Apart from the new Rivers Commissioner of Police, two other senior cops were redeployed.
They include CP Dandaura Mustapha who is now CP, Provost FHQ, Abuja; as well as CP Musa Adze, fdc now CP Anti-Fraud Unit.
Further, the released disclosed that the affected Commissioners of Police were charged to diligently and professionally discharge their duties; in their new areas of responsibilities.
