A local government boss in Sokoto has commended the newly posted Commissioner of Police in Sokoto, CP Ali Janga, for  starting his career in the state on sound note.

The Secretary of Isa local government who is also the sole administrator of the local government, Mallam Muhammad Makwashe, stated this while welcoming the police boss at the palace of Sarkin Gobir, Isa.

Makwashe explained that the move by the police Commissioner six days after resuming in his new duty post will not only boost the moral of the officers in the local government but also improve their performance.

He assured that the people of the local government will continue to cooperate with security agencies in order to curtail security breach in the entire local government.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Janga, assured the secretary and all the community leaders in the local government of his commitment to unravel the security problem in the area.

He further said a new set of mobile policemen will be drafted to the zone in addition to 15 numbers of  Special weapons and tactics (SWAT), already approved by the Inspector General of Police.

Janga maintained that he will use his experience to gannered over the years to tackle the security challenges in the state.

Meanwhile, the district head of Isa, Nurudeen Malami, denied the involvement of any traditional rulers in the zone in act of kidnapping and banditry.

He however said the people of the local government is ready to expose anyone found to be working as informants to the criminals to the security agencies.
