As Christians across Sokoto State prepare to mark the 2025 Easter festivities, the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, has extended warm greetings to the Christian faithful, urging them to celebrate peacefully and responsibly.

In a goodwill message issued on Thursday through the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, the Commissioner emphasized the significance of Easter as a season of peace and reflection.

He called on residents, both Christians and non-Christians alike, to ensure the celebration is free from any breach of law and order.

To ensure a hitch-free celebration, the Command has deployed adequate personnel and logistics across the state.

“The security architecture includes conventional police officers, intelligence operatives, mobile police units, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, and mounted troops for surveillance and crowd control.

“The Command is fully prepared to provide adequate security during and after the Easter celebrations,” the statement read.

We remain committed to performing our constitutional duties with professionalism, in accordance with global best practices, and with full respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens.”

The command further called on travelers to use recognized motor parks, avoid reckless driving, and refrain from operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.

“They should also keep in touch with family and friends throughout their journey”

Furthermore, the Command urged residents to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agency or contact the police directly through the following emergency lines: 08032861946, 07037133956, and 07030327944.
