Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State and Chairman/CEO Swiss Spirit Danag Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Chief Daniel Chimezie Okeke (Omereoha) has been awarded the Master of Science Degree in Procurement, Logistic and Supply Chain Management by the prestigious University of Salford, Manchester City, United Kingdom.

Okeke who is also MD/CEO Express Concerns Ltd, a leading international freight forwarding company said that his present degree from Salford confers a definite advantage on him in one of his line of business interest; transport and logistics services, noting that the coast is now clearer for further global competition and exploitation.

“With a growing foray of my business in international operations especially in areas such as  procurement and logistic, it became necessary for a cutting edge advantage which Salford provided in terms of curricula, pedigree and integrity, I am glad to come out victorious” he said.

Salford, one of the leading global universities was formerly The Royal Technical Institute, Salford, which opened in 1896, became a College of Advanced Technology in 1956 and gained university status following the Robbins Report into higher education, in 1967.

He said Nigeria as one of the biggest market in Africa is a destination for international logistics, transport and procurement services, hence logistics practitioner’s needs to be highly equipped to meet up with global standards and practices.

Asked if there are incidences of quacks in logistics and freight forwarding business in Nigeria,  the astute businessman noted that if there could be quacks in other sensitive professions such as medicine, law , engineering etc, it is evident that quackery could be prevalent in his industry, noting however that “in this business, clients knows the genuine operators” he affirmed.
