Troops of OPERATION SAFE HAVEN have arrested three suspected gunrunners and two kidnappers in Plateau State
The arrests were made yesterday, July 24 as the
troops on clearance operation have continued to sustain their operational tempo in their area of operation. The gun runners,
namely; Julius Simon (alias Bagga) 37yrs, Wolta Zambai, 45yrs and Iliya Peter (alias Doubok) 27yrs
were apprehended at Shimakar village Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State. Suspects currently undergoing investigation.
On same day, according to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko, the troops arrested two suspected kidnappers, namely, Alhaji Musa Usman 27yrs and Adam Mohammed 25yrs at Barkin Ladi, Plateau State.
Onyeuko said the suspects confessed to have carried out several kidnapping activities in the general area including the kidnap of one Master Jeremiah Elijah a 6yrs old which took place on 21 July 2022.
“Suspect in own custody undergoing further interrogation”, he added.
