According to the statement, the directors will help the commission in “actualising its statutory mandate.”
Tinubu urged the executive directors to “work closely with the NCDC’s governing board in ‘promoting and coordinating the sustainable development’ of the North-Central geopolitical zone.”
The NCDC was established in February 2025 to drive “infrastructure development, address ecological challenges, and promote economic growth” in a region that has been “affected by insecurity, flooding, and other developmental setbacks.”
The commission’s jurisdiction covers Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
