Tinubu-The-Octopus-News

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday tasked security and intelligence agencies in the country on the importance of sharing information and intelligence among themselves, saying hoarding such resources could be counterproductive in the fight against terrorism.

The President spoke after undertaking a tour of the new Office of National Security Adviser and facilities at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), in Abuja.

While noting the efforts demonstrated in countering terrorism and the state-of-the-art facilities at the two facilities, President Tinubu highlighted the importance of backing such efforts with knowledge.

He said his administration had recognised that in order to achieve economic revival, prosperity, and development, security should be of optimum priority.

“It is a great joy to see that we are getting proactive resources to prepare ourselves.

“Terrorism is not unique to Nigeria alone. It is across the world and we have to fight it. We have to eliminate it completely.

“If we as Nigerians are looking for economic revival, prosperity and development, then we have to give priority to security.

“What I have seen here is a demonstration of intelligence efforts to counter-terrorism. This must be backed by knowledge.

“Counter terrorism that is not backed by knowledge and intelligence is not going to be of any service to any nation. We are going to work on that together.

“The effort of the entire armed forces of this country must be put together in a way that there will be one single focus on securing the country.

“You can’t have disharmony in an orchestra. We must focus on one tunnel; coordinate, share information, share intelligence and work harder.

“You cannot hoard information. You cannot hoard intelligence. I am glad that Nigeria is on the path to succeed. We will, I assure you.

“We will make it a priority and that is why I am here this morning.”

President Tinubu, who described the tour of facilities at the new ONSA building as very important, expressed his willingness to do whatever necessary to support the nation’s security architecture.

In his remarks, the NSA, Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), thanked the President for making the visit his first engagement outside the Villa, saying that “it reinforces his commitment, dedication and inflexible rigidity to ensuring that the security misfortunes of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and by extension the sub-region are overcome within the shortest possible time.”

Monguno pledged the total commitment and dedication of ONSA to ensuring that President Tinubu realizes the promises he made to the Nigerian people on security.

  32. Top Language Apps for Indian Tourists in Vietnam: Unlock Seamless CommunicationPlanning a trip to Vietnam from India is an exciting venture, filled with vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes. However, navigating a foreign country can be challenging, especially when faced with a language barrier. Fortunately, the digital age has provided a wealth of resources, and language learning apps are at the forefront. This guide delves into the best language apps tailored for Indian tourists in Vietnam, ensuring a smoother, more enriching travel experience. We’ll explore apps that not only translate but also offer essential phrases, pronunciation guides, and cultural insights, helping you connect with locals and immerse yourself in the Vietnamese experience. Why Language Apps are Essential for Indian Tourists in VietnamThe Vietnamese language, Vietnamese, is notably distinct from the languages spoken in India. While some English proficiency exists in tourist areas, relying solely on it can limit your interactions and understanding of the local culture. Language apps act as invaluable companions, bridging the communication gap and empowering you to: – Order Food and Drinks: Decipher menus, specify your preferences, and savor authentic Vietnamese dishes with confidence.– Navigate Transportation: Communicate with taxi drivers, understand bus routes, and negotiate prices without relying on guesswork.– Shop at Local Markets: Bargain effectively, discover hidden gems, and experience the lively atmosphere of Vietnamese markets.– Engage with Locals: Break down barriers, build rapport, and gain deeper insights into Vietnamese customs and traditions.– Handle Emergencies: Access crucial phrases for medical assistance or other urgent situations.Using language apps also shows respect for the local culture and a willingness to engage with the Vietnamese people on a more personal level, enhancing your overall travel experience. Top Language Apps to ConsiderHere’s a curated list of top-rated language apps specifically recommended for Indian tourists traveling to Vietnam:1. Google TranslateGoogle Translate is a global favorite and offers excellent translation capabilities, including both text and voice translation. Its camera feature allows you to instantly translate signs, menus, and other printed text by simply pointing your phone at them. It is particularly useful for reading Vietnamese menus or understanding street signs. For Indian tourists, Google Translate offers a wide range of languages for translation from Hindi or other regional Indian languages to Vietnamese. The app’s offline mode is also a great feature allowing access to the translations even without an internet connection, which is extremely useful in remote areas or places with unreliable Wi-Fi.2. iTranslateiTranslate provides similar functionality to Google Translate but often boasts a cleaner user interface and, in some cases, slightly better voice recognition. It offers a phrasebook with essential phrases and the ability to save translations for later use. iTranslate supports multiple Indian languages as the source language and provides accurate and reliable Vietnamese translations. The app allows you to download languages for offline use which is beneficial for international tourists. iTranslate’s pronunciation feature is also useful. 3. SimplyLearn VietnameseSimplyLearn Vietnamese by Simya Solutions focuses specifically on the Vietnamese language, providing a targeted approach to learning essential phrases and vocabulary. It goes beyond basic translation, offering lessons on pronunciation, grammar, and cultural insights. This app is perfect for Indian tourists who want to learn useful phrases for common travel situations. The app is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. The app is helpful in enhancing your communication in Vietnam.4. DuolingoDuolingo is a widely popular language learning app known for its gamified approach to language acquisition. It offers structured lessons on Vietnamese, making it a fun and engaging way to learn basic vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures. Although Duolingo may not be ideal for on-the-spot translations, it’s an excellent tool for building a foundational understanding of the language before and during your trip. This can greatly improve your ability to converse with locals, even if only for basic interactions. This will make your trip more immersive and enjoyable.5. TripLingoTripLingo is a comprehensive travel app that includes a language translator, a currency converter, and a tip calculator, making it a versatile tool for Indian tourists. It features a phrasebook with thousands of useful phrases, categorized by situation, and provides audio recordings by native speakers. TripLingo also offers cultural tips and insights to help you navigate local customs and avoid misunderstandings. This app provides context to help you to navigate the unfamiliar scenarios that you may encounter while traveling.Tips for Maximizing Your Language App ExperienceTo get the most out of your language app, keep these tips in mind:– Download Offline Data: Before your trip, download the necessary language packs for offline use. This ensures you can access translations even without an internet connection.– Learn Basic Greetings: Familiarize yourself with basic Vietnamese greetings, such as “Xin chào” (hello) and “Cảm ơn” (thank you). Showing effort to learn the local language is always appreciated.– Use Visual Aids: When ordering food or shopping, use the camera feature to translate menus or labels. Point at the item or use images in the app to make your request clearer.– Practice Pronunciation: Use the pronunciation guides in the app to practice speaking Vietnamese words and phrases correctly. Even imperfect pronunciation is better than none.– Be Patient: Language apps are tools, not magic wands. Be patient with the translation and be prepared to use gestures or other methods of communication if needed.– Consider a Local Guide: For a truly immersive experience, consider booking a tour with a local guide who can speak both English and Vietnamese. Vietnam Story tailor-made trips can provide a personalized tour that fits your interests.Beyond Apps: Enhancing Your Vietnamese ExperienceWhile language apps are a valuable asset, they are not the only way to enrich your Vietnamese experience. Consider these additional tips:– Learn Basic Etiquette: Research Vietnamese customs and etiquette to avoid unintentional offense. Simple gestures like nodding your head to show respect and avoid pointing your finger can go a long way.– Embrace the Local Culture: Immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture by trying local cuisine, visiting temples, and exploring markets. Engage with locals and be open to new experiences.– Pack a Phrasebook: Carry a physical Vietnamese phrasebook as a backup, especially for areas with limited access to the internet.– Engage in Active Listening: Pay attention to the way Vietnamese people speak and the rhythm of the language. This can help you to pick up useful phrases and improve your comprehension.– Consider a Vietnam Story Tour: Enhance your travel experience by choosing tours from Vietnam Story for a memorable and authentic journey. They will help you to see the true beauty of Vietnam. The local guides are experts in their fields, providing you with valuable information and insights during your stay.By combining the power of language apps with these additional tips, Indian tourists can confidently navigate Vietnam, connect with locals, and create unforgettable memories. With a little preparation and a willingness to embrace the local culture, your trip to Vietnam is sure to be an enriching and rewarding adventure. Vietnam Story also offers a range of services to cater to Indian tourists. You can find them at vietnamstory.in. Their local expertise will help you have the best trip possible!
