The Zonal Commander of Federal Road Safety Commission, RS10, covering Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, ACM Muhammed A. Hussaini, has warned the personnel in the zone not to engage in act that can bring the command to disrepute.
He warned that any of the personnel caught collecting bribe in the course of duty or harassing motorist will face disciplinary action in accordance with the law.
The Zonal Commander stated this in his office on Thursday while during a media interaction to commemorate his resumption into office in the state.
He calls on all the personnel in the zone to always ensure that their dressing is befitted their positions in the society while urging them not to approach motorist with foul language under any circumstances.
He revealed that the command under his leadership will soon open a new outpost in Tureta local government to bring the total number of outpost in the zone to nine with 18 units.
Hussaini also disclosed that no local governments in the entire three states that makes the zone without the presence of Federal Road Safety Commission personnel.
Meanwhile, the zone is set to launch operation winter between February 15 and 17, to enlighten motorist on safety of road during this season.
The Zonal Commander said the operation is to make motorist that carries farm produce from the village to the main town obey different road rules.
While commending transport union association on their cooperation so far, the new FRSC boos said his men will double their efforts in enforcing covid-19 protocols in all the motor parks across the state.
He maintained that the command is enjoying synergy with other security agencies in the state which he said will continue to help them in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities to the citizens of the three states make up of the zone.
He commend the efforts of the three governors in the zone for all their support, as well as the Sultanate council for always playing the fatherly role to the command in the zone.
