The National Assembly elections are less than 45days away and Honourable Sunday Marshall Katung is running on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party to represent the great people of Kaduna South Senatorial District (Zone 3) at the Senate.

SMK as he is popularly known, is a trailblazer, an astute legislator, a decent politician, an agent of change and development, a purpose-driven person, a fine gentleman, a patriot and a true statesman whose sweat and toil have added value to the consolidation of Nigeria’s democracy in the Eighth (8th) Assembly.

Furthermore, he is the only contestant in Zone 3 with experience, maturity, competence, electoral winning skill and qualitative representation, as evidenced in the trust placed in him by the good people of Jaba/Zango Kataf Federal Constituency when they elected him to represent them in 2011 and gave him the ticket again in 2019 which he left to the current occupant and joined the PDP Gubernatorial ticket as running mate to Ashiru.

Easily approachable, SMK is a unifying figure in Southern Kaduna politics with high family values, and he believes government plays the roles of empowering communities and upholding human rights. He possesses the skill and intellectual resources to bring to the national discussion the peculiar challenges bedeviling the senatorial district and to assiduously work towards using the office to position his Senatorial District for optimal benefits at the Centre.

His contesting for the senatorial seat is not only politically expedient but also politically necessary as well and reason must prevail over sentiment in the choice of who represents the zone at the national level.
