The All Progressives Congress Abia state chapter has assured the people of the state that the era of election rigging in the state in particular and Nigeria in general is over as the party is focused towards winning elections.

This was stated by Chief Ikechi Emenike during his tour of Aba North and South council areas of the state in continuation of his tour of council areas, saying that all the machineries which politicians use in rigging election have been dismantled by APC.

Emenike used the forum to warn those who have formed the ugly habit of rigging elections in the state to have a change of heart as the present government under the leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari has changed electoral narrative in the country.

He said, “APC in both Abia state and the entire country is not known for election rigging, we believe in winning election in the right way not through the back door, so those who are planning to rig should look for another thing to do during elections”.

The Abia APC leader said that President Buhari who does not believe in election rigging has changed things, “Those who are still living in the past should change as INEC workers who used to write results for them have been removed, while police men who also help them during election have a new direction”.

Emenike assured the people of Aba community that it is a shame that there is only one institution in the city which is supposed to have more like in other states like Osun which has about 18 universities which has not helped in employing people but also offering education to all.

He said that APC government in Abia state will in the next four years ensure that there will not be less than five higher institutions where the educationally minded youths would have spaces to study courses of their choice.

The Abia APC leader said that when such higher institutions are established that there would be spaces for the children of the state and those from outside to study, while job opportunities would be the for those who are ready to work.

Emenike who addressed Emenike youths, Emenike daughters, Emenike teenagers and stakeholders told them that the development of the state is in their hands for them to get their PVCs which will enable them to vote for people of their choice.

He urged them to make use of the extended time given by INEC in the registration of eligible voters to get their PVCs, stressing that after the end of this month that INEC may not extend it further.

The renowned economist explained that the time to lift Abia state up beyond the level is now and the change which has taken place in Abuja would soon come down to Abia state and it can only be done through them.

Emenike noted that President Buhari is fighting corruption to a standstill and that corruption is one of the greatest ailment which has eaten deep into the system, stressing that there is every need to put a stop to it now.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the two Aba council areas, the chairman of Aba South, Barnabas Obioha thanked the Abia APC leader for coming to see them and assured him that if he eventually decides to run for Abia governorship seat that they will give him all their support.

Obioha used the forum to call on those who have not registered to do that without delay and get their PVCs, stressing that it their arsenal for the forthcoming general elections where their choices will be voted.
