A 2019 governorship aspirant under the platform of APC Chief Ikechi Emenike has commenced consultation of all the 17 local government areas of the state ahead of his formal declaration. He said his aim was to inform Abians of his intention to run for the race and why Abia needs change having suffered in the hands of the people’s democratic part for years now.

Addressing stakeholders at Olokoro and Apumiri Ubakala, headquarters of Umuahia South Council Area,  Emenike, disclosed that the aim of the consultation across the State is to meet critical stakeholders on the way forward  for his political aspiration.

“We are still consulting with stakeholders and after that visit , I

can now come out and declare to contest for governorship or not but

2019 will be a period for Change”

He decried the level of development of the State within the period PDP

  has held the administration of the State in the past twenty years.

He challenged the youths to be vanguards of demoxcracy as they

represents the future of the State, “We are about your tomorrow

because if your today is not better, your tomorrow will not be that

better”

On the second term bid of President Mohammadu Buhari, the APC

chieftain boosted that the President would be reelected at the 2019

Presidential election through

 

Also speaking, the chairman of APC stakeholders forum Engr. Chris Okpechi described Emenike as the man ordained by God to rule Abia from 2019.  Noting that the state have stagnant without development since its creation. “No payment of teachers’ salaries, pensioners and infrastructural decay. Abians should wake up from their slumber and lets change misrule in the state.

 

Earlier In his speech, the state coordinator, Abia Progressive Youths

Forum,  Mr. ChimaobiEze said the forum has reiterated its readiness to

embark on voter education and impact analysis on political leaders and

also aimed at creating awareness on having a positive thinker and most

credible as Governor of the State.

He urged the youths to galvanize support for Chief Ikechi Emeike to

emerge as Governor for credibility, accountability and transparency.
