AAC Chairman

By John Nwokocha, Abuja

The National chairman of the African Action Congress, Dr Leonard Nzenwa  has stated unequivocally that the party submitted names of its candidates for the September 19 Ondo governorship election to INEC, thereby clearing the confusion and reports in social media that the party didn’t not field candidates for the poll.

The national chairman in statement said that the party’s attention was “drawn to unsavory comments made in some social media platforms regarding Release of Ondo Gubernatorial Provisional List By the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC last week”.

In a swift reaction therefore, the AAC  cleared the confusion saying that “the party’s leadership through its National Headquarter submitted names of its candidates to the Commission”.

Urging its loyalists to remain calm, law-abiding and continue to work for the progress of the party with commitment,

Nzenwa restates that names of candidates published were the ones submitted by the party to the Commission as empowered by the party’s Constitution and Electoral Act 2010(As Amended).

He stresses that it is within the powers of the party’s chairman and its leadership to exercise this task of submission of names of its candidates to the electoral umpire and has nothing to do with INEC or any other stakeholder.
