The chairman of APC Ward Congress Appeal Panel Senator Galadi Isa had yesterday in Umuahia declared the congress in Abia as the most peaceful. Senator Isa who was fielding questions from newsmen in Umuahia said “All Progressive Congress in Abia has proved to be a united force. There was a peaceful ward congress and that shows that the party has come to stay in Abia. This unlike other states”.
Isa told newsmen that a three man appeal panel were carefully chosen to oversee the complaints from aggrieved party members and promised to be fair and transparent.
In his reaction, the Abia State chairman of APC Hon. Donatus Nwankpa expressed happiness that the ward congress in the state was peaceful.
He said “the peaceful atmosphere under which the congress was conducted shows that the party will succeed in its bid to win election in 2019”.
“I thank the committee for addressing areas of grievances that may possibly cause breakdown of the law especially considering what happened and is still happening in some states”.
