Evangeline Ozonyiri, founder and Chief Executive officer of Ivyline Care Foundation has been honoured by her Community, Leru, Umuchieze in Umunneochi Local Government of Abia state for her untiring contributions towards the development of the community and humanity.
While honouring Ozonyiri with the title of Adaejiejemba (Worthy Ambassador) of Leru, Umuchieze during the 23rd Ofala Festival at Leru by the Traditional Ruler, Eze Elewechukwu Ogoke said that Ozonyiri has been empowering people since 2019 beginning from her immediate Community,Leru before extending to Umuchieze and beyond.
The Royal father extolled the virtues of the philanthropist’s untiring efforts in empowering widows and the indigent persons in the Society and prayed God to continue to strengthen her in all her endeavours.
Ozonyiri while speaking with our correspondent in Leru disclosed that her Foundation was founded in 2018 and took off its activities proper in 2019.
She stated that her major objective of floating the NGO is to empower the youths, widows and indigent persons.
The CEO of Ivyline Care Foundation said, she deemed proper to start with the empowerment of rural women in the communities first before extending the exercise to other areas.
She stated her NGO had embarked on renovation of the community’s Health centre and also build new one for her Leru village before extending her activities to other parts of Umuchieze and beyond.
Also speaking, the coordinator of the Foundation, Chimezirim Harvester Ozonyiri said that Organization is all about helping the indigent women and vulnerable in the society.
During the occasion, the NGO donated food items, detergents, condiments, mattresses, wrappers among other items worth millions of Naira to over 530 rural women.
