There are palpable tension as confusion seems to have engulfed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship primaries as two aspirants lay claim to victory as the chosen one from the primary of the party.
The coalition aspirant, Senator Hope Uzodinma has pronounced himself winner of the APC Governorship primaries with a total figure of 423,895 votes while the Governor of Imo State led faction, Hon. Uche Nwosu lay claim to victory with 455, 655 votes.
Buttressing the assertion, Governor Okorocha Congratulated Chief Uche Nwosu over his Victory in the APC governorship primary election in the State and described his Victory as a good omen for the party, with regard to the 2019 election.
Okorocha also commended members of the State’s governorship primary election Committee for doing a thorough job with regard to the Conduct of the Primary and described them as Patriotic Nigerians and lovers of the democratic culture of one man, one vote.
He equally thanked the members of APC in the State for coming out in their large numbers to vote for Uche Nwosu in the primary, adding that Nwosu will not disappoint the party, its members and Imo people in general.
The Imo governor remarked that Politicians who are always afraid of proper voting in an election should better quit because the unfortunate act of carrying ballot boxes and Stealing result sheets to write non-existent results won’t flourish in APC.
The result of the governorship primary election was announced at the APC State Secretariat at Imo State University round-about by the Secretary of the Committee, Barr. Henry Idahagbon with seven other members of the Committee in attendance including, Hon. Kashim Mohammed, Alhaji Sadique Gebe, Mr. Joseph Enyiukpo, Hon. Yakassai Muktar, Dr. Ahmed Aminu, Chief Charles Nwabueze and Engr. Forte Dike.

His words, “I wish to therefore congratulate the winner of yesterday’s All progressives congress Governorship Primary Election, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for his victory and wish him well in the general election”.
