An oil magnet from Igbere in Bende local government area of Abia state, Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso has declared his intention to run for the Bende Federal constituency seat under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Bende federal constituency seat which is currently being occupied by Hon Nnenna Ukeje Elendu from Alayi who has been there for three terms is expected to be keenly contested during the PDP primaries.
Speaking at his country home in Igbere venue of his declaration, Anyaso said that his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for Bende federal constituency was born out the love for his people with the aim to make life better for them.
Anyaso said that he is determined to bring unprecedented development to the constituency and its people so that dilapidated and abandoned roads that have made life difficult for the rural communities will be made better.
He said, “Our attention will be focused on the youths both educated and uneducated who are roaming the streets without jobs or required knowledge to earn income and survive”.
The oil magnet said that the rural and farming communities which have no access to fertilizers, improved seedlings, or mechanized farming implements, lack portable water, poor health care facilities, poor educational system and unsuitable learning environment will be addressed.
Anyaso said, “These and many more are some of the things that touched my heart and has forced my hands to make that bold decision to come out to help our people to improve the poor conditions in our system”.
“It is my believe that Bende federal constituency can be rebuilt anew through my entrance into partisan politics which I hope will go a long way to improve the living and environmental standard of our people in all spheres of life”.
He explained that the constituency can have access to free education, “I am sure of this since I started Ahuoma Anyaso education foundation as an individual which has nursery and primary school and has been providing free quality education for the past ten years without any support from government”.
“I am unashamedly loyal to Bende and my antecedent proves this beyond reasonable doubt to every one who knows me well enough, so in times like this when our villages and communities are facing uncertain fate”.
“A time when hunger and poverty has almost turned our communities into ghost towns it behooves on those of us who claim to love our people to stand up in defense of the defenseless, to fight for the betterment of the lives of those whom God has given us the responsibility to protect”.
“Ladies and gentlemen the task ahead of us is enormous so we must work together and to all of us gathered here today let us see beyond the periphery, let us look beyond politics of personal interest and put Bende first”.
“It is time to rebuild, repair and rehabilitate not just broken infrastructure but broken relationships, broken societal values and ethics, broken systems, broken attitude to life and broken aspirations and goals”.
“It is time to engender new hope, time to make promises that will not be broken, time to pledge unflinching loyalty to the communities that shaped our lives and made us what we are today, it is time for Bende”.
Anyaso said that he is not joining politics for personal gains but for the development of Bende federal constituency, adding that points listed above made him to declare his intention to run for the federal House of Representatives seat.
Earlier in his speech a stalwart of the PDP in his Igbere ward, Chief Chuzzy Iboko said that Anyaso is a worthy son who they believe has the capacity to represent the people of Bende at the federal House of Representatives come 2019.
