…Proposes broad-based Political Movement to oust APC in 2027.

Against the backdrop of much speculated return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso PhD, has categorically dismissed speculations suggesting his possible return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that such a move is “not only unfounded but inconsistent with the principles of justice, good governance, and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria.”

In a strong worded statement personally signed by him, Kwankwaso, who was also the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the 2023 general elections emphasized that the APC has inflicted untold hardship, economic deterioration, and deepened insecurity on Nigerians since assuming power.

He condemned the party’s track record of what he described as “reckless governance, policy failures, and a disconnect from the everyday realities of the Nigerian people.”

He said that though the president has personally reached out to him to consider rejoining the party but despite the flattering promises, he made it crystal clear to him that he would rather quit politics entirely than return to the APC, a party that has inflicted immense hardship on Nigerians.

According to the statement “I wish to state clearly and unequivocally that President Tinubu personally reached out to me on multiple occasions, urging me to return to the APC fold. He called me directly and made several overtures, both in private and through mutual contacts, in a bid to lure me back to a party that I once helped build but ultimately had to leave due to its departure from principle and justice.

He said that during one of his conversations with the president, he was assured that all conditions he may have for returning would be met without hesitation. He said, and I quote, “All terms will be fulfilled; all conditions will be like pupils in your hands.” “Despite the flattering promises, I made it crystal clear to him that I would rather quit politics entirely than return to the APC, a party that has inflicted immense hardship on Nigerians”, he said.

Kwankwaso,  who was also a onetime Defence Minister said that he is a man of conviction, and  do not take political decisions lightly noting that his refusal to rejoin APC is rooted in principle, patriotism, and the love he has for Nigeria and its struggling citizens.

“This is not about political convenience or personal ambition. This is about the soul of our nation. Nigeria cannot afford another cycle of deception and incompetence. The APC has had its chance—and it has failed spectacularly,” he said.

He said that the APC government, both under Buhari and now under Tinubu, has failed to address the core challenges confronting Nigerians: insecurity, hunger, youth unemployment, economic decay, and worsening corruption.

He said that his focus is to work closely with like-minded patriots across the country to form a broad-based political movement that will challenge the status quo in 2027.

“This movement will not just be about winning elections. It will be about uprooting the politics of deception and replacing it with one of hope, vision, and action” he said.

He assured that the political movement shall galvanize Nigerians, especially the youth, into a united force that will peacefully and democratically bring an end to the Tinubu government through the ballot box.

” We will form a movement that transcends ethnicity, religion, and region because the suffering of Nigerians knows no tribe or faith and let me warn those in power today: Nigerians are watching. The suffering is real. The hunger is real. The insecurity is real. And in 2027, they will speak loud and clear” he said

He said that no amount of political maneuvering, propaganda, or elite bargains will stop the will of the people when the time comes. He also encourages all those who believe in justice, equity, and competent leadership to prepare and join hands as to lay the foundation for a new Nigeria.

“Our goal is not just to defeat APC in 2027, but to rebuild Nigeria from the ruins it has been plunged into by years of failed leadership”.

He however thanked President Tinubu and those urging him to return to APC, noting that his loyalty is to Nigeria, not to political parties that have failed the country, insisting that he remain committed to the cause of a better, stronger, and united Nigeria.
