Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and founder of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, on Thursday received a massive delegation of loyalists from Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area in Kano State, in a show of solidarity that further underscored his enduring political influence in the state and across the North.
The enthusiastic supporters, drawn from across Dawakin Kudu, converged to reaffirm their unwavering loyalty to Kwankwaso and their commitment to the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the NNPP. The visit was marked by chants, displays of the movement’s signature red colours, and expressions of confidence in Kwankwaso’s leadership at a time of heightened political realignments.

Welcoming the crowd, Senator Kwankwaso expressed deep appreciation for their steadfast support, describing their visit as a powerful reminder of the bond between the movement and the grassroots. He thanked them for their loyalty and dedication to the NNPP, urging them to remain united, disciplined, and focused on the broader goal of building people-oriented leadership. He also wished the delegation a safe journey back to their communities.
The Dawakin Kudu visit comes shortly after a similar solidarity visit by Kwankwasiyya loyalists from Nasarawa Local Government Area, pointing to a growing pattern of grassroots mobilisation around Kwankwaso. Political observers note that these back-to-back visits reflect a deliberate effort by supporters to reaffirm allegiance amid ongoing shifts and tensions within Kano’s political landscape.

Analysts say the steady stream of solidarity visits highlights Kwankwaso’s continued relevance as a dominant political force in Kano politics, despite recent defections and realignments involving key actors in the state. More significantly, it reinforces his stature as one of the few northern leaders with a deep, organised, and emotionally connected grassroots base that cuts across local government boundaries.
