The faction of the All progressives congress, APC in Edo state loyal to the National chairman of the party Adams oshiomhole has recommended to the National working committee of the APC to expel the state governor, Godwin obaseki from the party over what the group calls violation of the provision of the APC constitution.
The other two persons on the expulsion list are the factional chairman of the party loyal to governor Obaseki, Anselm ojezua and Aisosa amadasun.
Ojezua in his response, described the call for their expulsion from the APC as a joke of the century from desperate politicians.
Briefing journalists in Benin city, the Edo State capital, the factional state party chairman loyal to Oshiomhole, Colonel David Imuse (Rtd) said besides disqualifying Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting the APC governorship primaries, the National Working Committee should expel him over breach of the APC constitution.
Meanwhile, in a tweet, the embattled Governor Godwin Obaseki in his message to supporters on Sunday afternoon said, “I appreciate the sustained show of solidarity, support and goodwill from Edo people and Nigerians in the face of injustice by the APC Screening Committee. I will be making my next move known after I complete consultations with my supporters and meet with President Buhari.
