The Governorship aspirant of All Progressive Grand Alliance in Abia State Dr. Alex Otti has accused Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of running a government of falsehood. Otti who stated this during his declaration for the 2018 Governorship race at Ngwa High School Aba alleged that fund meant for the development of the state was not correctly accounted for.
He accused the Governor to have toured the world within his three years in office using Abia money without attracting foreign investors to the state. “Ikpeazu is running a government of falsehood. How can he use the swooping sum of N1.4B to build one kilometer road in Abia? Using Abia money to travel the entire countries of the world without attracting even one foreign investor and first tenure is gone”.
“Workers and pensioners are dying in their numbers due to non-payment of pension, gratuities and salaries. Worrisome is the plight of primary and secondary school teachers and workers of parastatals in the state who are being owned 11 months’ salary.
“These abnormalities are why I came out in 2015 to correct. I won the election but Olisa Metu the former publicity secretary of PDP and his cohorts’ hijacked ballot boxes and the returning officer rubbed APGA victory in favour of PDP”.
“I am coming out again to be your Governor in 2019. I am coming for the sake of Abians, to remove the state from bondage”. The way out is for you to vote for me to end the hardship in the state.
Otti urged both indigenes and non-indigenes in Abia to remain steadfast with APGA, describing what happened in the 2015 as pure stealing by the PDP. “We are wiser now and that will not happen again”.
Earlier, Senator Victor Umeh in his speech said he came to witness Otti’s declaration and to encourage the people of Abia to vote for APGA again the way they did in 2015.
“Otti will do what Governor Obiano did in Anambra. Unlike Rochas Okorocha who disappointed the people of Imo State after APGA voted him to victory and he defeated to APC, Dr. Otti will remain with you”. He assured.
