Ajisafe also highlighted the challenging economic conditions, suggesting that voters would be unlikely to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under these circumstances.

Ajayi acknowledged that while defections from the party were part of the political process, he was encouraged by the growing number of people joining the PDP, including recent defections of APC women leaders in Ikare and Ese-Odo.
