Ronaldo the five time winner of the prestigious award has been nominated for the Balon’ deor 2018 amid allegations of raping one Miss Kathryn Mayonga in Las Vegas Hotel in 2009. The forward has since moved to deny the allegation, branding it as fake news.
Ronaldo was nominated alongside his former Real Madrid team mate Bale, Luca modric and Sergio Ramos along with 26 other players, with the later having won the FiFA men’s best player award.
