Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have a huge mountain to soar over as they have been paired to face Argentina, the host nation of the on-going FIFA U20 World Cup on Wednesday.

For the records, Argentina are the most successful nation in FIFA U-20 World Cup history with six titles to their name. Nigeria were the losing finalists to a Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina in Utrecht in 2005.

This is Argentina’s 17th participation in the Under 20 World Cup.n The golden era for the South American nation was from 1995 to 2007 when they remarkably won five out of the seven editions of the U20 World Cup during this period.

Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi have both left their mark on this tournament in some style, with the former claiming the Golden Ball when Argentina won their first title in 1979 and Messi repeating the feat in 2005 when he also won the Golden Boot.

Argentina’s Javier Saviola is the top scorer in the history of the FIFA U-20 World Cup with 11 goals, all of which he scored at the 2001 finals.

  1. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Firefox.

I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do
with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to
let you know. The design and style look great though!
Hope you get the issue solved soon. Many thanks
