The stage is set for a battle of titanic proportion. Super Eagles’ opponents, the Ghana Black Stars have landed in Abuja for Tuesday’s World Cup qualification decider coming up at 6pm at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The Ghana contingent touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 2:30 pm local time in Nigeria

They are scheduled to have what may be their only training session at 6pm later in the evening.

The last time they were in Nigeria for a World Cup qualifier, they lost 3-0 and it was on the same 29th day of the month that the game was decided 21 years ago in Port Harcourt.

The setting is almost the same. Scores at the first leg was also 0-0 giving the impression of a possible repeat of history.

Ghana failed to make it to the last edition of the World Cup in 2018 in Russia.

The only time Nigeria had missed going to the World Cup was in 2006 which incidentally was Ghana’s debut.

According to information from the team, Ghana travelled with a full compliment of the squad for the crunchy game with the exception of Edmund Addo who was ruled out before the first leg tie in Kumasi.

FC St. Pauli star Daniel-Kofi Kyereh who picked up a knock before Friday’s match has fully recovered and is line for a starting place on Tuesday evening.
