Team Nigeria has been disqualified from the men’s 4x400m final at the Paris Olympics following a lane infringement. The decision by the referee resulted in the South African team being included in the final, automatically displacing Nigeria.
Earlier, the Nigerian quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie finished second in their semifinal heat, running a season’s best of 2:59.81. This performance initially secured them a spot in Saturday’s final, but the lane violation led to their disqualification.
