The Golden Eaglets took an early lead when Imrana Muhammad scored in the ninth minute. Ghana’s Black Starlets quickly equalized, with Harve Gbafa finding the net ten minutes later.
Gbafa capitalized on a defensive error by Nigeria to score his second goal three minutes before the half-hour mark, putting Ghana ahead.
Nigeria fought back, leveling the score four minutes before halftime with a brilliant attacking play. Abdulmuiz Adeleke headed in a precise cross from John Ogwuche, bringing the score to 2-2.
The game remained deadlocked until stoppage time when Adeleke emerged as the hero, firing home the winning goal two minutes into added time. The Nigerian forward ended the competition with four goals to his credit.
