The strength of any politician in a democratic dispensation largely depend on his, among other things sincerity of purpose, capacity to mobilise people particularly politicians of substance, provide purposeful leadership and ability to make positive impact on the lives of the people through utilisation of the available resources for economic empowerment and substantial development of human resources capacity for employment creation.
At the advent of the present democratic dispensation in 1998, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero emerged Governorship candidate after a keenly contested primary election. He defeated his opponents some of whom are to date, desperately making unsuccessful attempts to get to political limelight.
Senator Aliero’s victory at the primary and subsequently general elections in 1999, was the handwork of Allah through some political leaders and bussiness associates who have massively benefited from his wealth of experience and support when he had no political ambition.
Since 1999, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero has effectively utilised every opportunity for the physical development of Kebbi State, economic empowerment support to the people and provided opportunities for the indigenes of kebbi state and indeed the neighbouring states to occupy the states rightful positions in the mainstream of national politics and federal government establishment.
As the Executive Governor of Kebbi state for eight years, he operated an all – inclusive administration regardless of political, tribal or religious affiliation, believing that the state belongs to all and all segments have valuable contributions to make for the unity and progress of the state.
It is common knowledge that Aliero’s administration transformed Birnin kebbi, the state capital from a glorified local government headquarters to a befitting state capital. To date, Aliero’s landmark achievements remains the only physical and verifiable capital development recorded in the state. The construction of a befitting Government House, Presidential lodge, state secretariat, School of Nursing and midwifery, internationally recognised Eye Center, Airport, State University of science and technology, constructed of standard network of inter City and township roads with drainages across the state, provision of over 5000 housing estates in Birnin kebbi and major towns in the state, to mention but a few.
As an individual entreprenuer, Senator Aliero has provided morethan 5000 direct employment and thousands of indirect jobs in Kebbi and neighbouring states through his founded Labana Global Ventures conglomerate which has ad its subsidiaries,Labana Rice Mills, Labana Farms, Labana Table Water factory, Labana Poultry, Labana Fishiries, Labana Egry, Labana plasicWater Hose factory and Labana orchard.
Regrettably however, some of the viable economic projects he initiated such as the Transformer manufacturing industry, neem seed processing plant and Malamai industry for lthe production of high quality plastic materials could not be completed by his predecessor. Also worthy of note is the abandonment of the magnificent state secretariat and a first class kebbi Health Centre at Kalgo initiated by his predecessor were not only abandoned but are being grossly misused and made a condit pipe for siphoning government resources . At this point in our development drive, when standard network of express roads and flyovers are being celebrated in other states, shameless and unpatriotic administration in Kebbi is celebrating locally designed renovated round about in the state capital.
Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero’s track record of achievements and unprecedented development recorded in Kebbi State as Governor and those in Kebbi Central Senatorial District as a Senator, cannot be disputed or compared by quality and and spread with that of any state administration or Senator in the history of kebbi state so far. There is no gain saying that Senator Aliero has remained committed to economic empowerment of the people with integrity, since his days as Governor, Senator, Minister and Senator.
With his verifiable scorecards, the trust and confidence the people have in his capacity to selflessly served God and humanity, he built a strong and formidable political structure that has produced States and National Assembly members as well as state Governors including the serving Kebbi State Governor and his predecessor.
However, it is highly regrettably and unfortunate that at this global era of economic and political development, Kebbi State blessed with internationally recognised technocrats, professors and high quality personalities in all aspects of human endeavour is being mismanaged with impunity by a cabal fully backed by the Governor and being led by someone difficult to be described.
Socially he is a stack illitrate, morally fake and deceitful and economically dubious and fraudulent.
With Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero’s pedigree, uncomparable track record of achievements, overwhelming support demonstrated by the people within and out side Kebbi State and above all Allah’s sustained guidance and blessings. It will certainly be suicidal for any politician in Kebbi State however highly placed to challenge the will of God and the die-hard followership of Senator Aliero in Kebbi politics not to talk of the childish bragging of a political nonentity of having the capacity to retire Senator Aliero from Kebbi politics.
Now that the supreme Court has given the final verdict on Senator Aliero’s qualification and eligibility to contest the Senatorial seat of kebbi central, let’s wait for the final verdict of the electorate on the election day which will certainly be based on track records of previous and present performance of each candidate.
One particular thing worthy of note is the fact that legal battle involving Senator Aliero though internal from the surface, it was actually bankrolled by the opposition candidate whose fear of Aliero is beginning of wisdom to him, strongly believing that Aliero’s victory at the court will be the end of his political career for years. He contracted,at the cost of several millions of naira yet to be ascertained,
a few Abuja based paper weight politicians parading as PDP elders to fight the will of God and true democrats in Kebbi State.
However, before the return of Senator Aliero Kebbi politics was dull and forlorn now the Apex court has set a stage for a fierce political battle one which at the end will determine the future of politics in Kebbi state because Aliero is a roaring lion sending shivers down the spines of the entire Kebbi state political conglomerate.
