A Senatorial aspirant under the umbrella of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Onyekwere Chima Uzoma (OON) has said that if his party gives him ticket, he would beat the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial Zone Senator Theodore Orji at the polls.
Onyekwere who stated this in Umuahia while chatting with our correspondent, alleged that the incumbent Senator did not do enough when he served Abia State as a Governor for eight years adding that the few roads he built were not quality ones.
“He did not do enough and therefore should retire and enjoy his old age. As a Governor, he did nothing. He did not build quality roads and his successes were not enjoyed by the people of Abia Central”.
He said the people of Abia Central Senatorial Zone have been calling for a change to bring a credible person that will speak for them adding that if he is elected, he will make a difference.
“People talk of late Sam Mbakwe and Michael I. Okpara because of what they did but nobody mentions the present leaders. It’s just because they are not doing well”.
“It is to reshape the decayed society especially in Abia Central Senatorial Zone that I want to represent my people. I am driven by the passion to make a positive difference in the lives of as many young people as possible”.
“The Igbos love education but in Abia, education has fallen. Teachers are not paid. If I am elected, I will forward a bill that would grant 20% of the statutory allocation to education, in service training for civil servants and the use of ICT to learn in both primary and secondary schools. It has worked in Port Harcourt and can work in Abia”.
“Giving people vehicles is not an empowerment. I will empower my constituents in line with their skills. There would be a revolving loan with zero interest for people to establish businesses in the area they learn and know. The aspirant advised Abians especially the people of Abia Central not allow themselves to be deceived by politicians”.
“Do not sell your PVC. Selling it means selling your right and wellbeing”.
“The Abia Central Zone has tried PDP and it failed. PDP is being run by a cartel because both its National and State Executives were appointed and not elected. In APGA, internal democracy is working and it’s in the party that real Abia Leaders would come out”.
